  • My Journey into Cloud and DevOps

Technology is constantly changing, and my interest in servers, Linux, cloud computing, and automation motivated me to start learning Cloud and DevOps.

My journey started with learning the fundamentals of Linux system administration. I learned how to work with Linux servers, manage users and permissions, configure services, work with files and directories, and troubleshoot common server problems.

As I progressed, I started working with AWS. I learned how to create and manage EC2 instances, configure security groups, work with storage, and host web applications on cloud servers. Working directly with cloud infrastructure helped me understand how real-world servers are deployed and managed.

One of the important technologies I learned was Nginx. I configured Nginx as a web server and learned how domains, PHP-FPM, and web applications work together. I also worked with MariaDB and connected databases with web applications.

I then started learning Ansible, which introduced me to automation. Instead of configuring every server manually, I learned how to write playbooks and roles that can automatically install packages, configure services, manage users, configure SELinux, and deploy applications.

I also explored Docker and containerization. Docker helped me understand how applications and their dependencies can be packaged into containers and deployed consistently across environments.

Another important part of my learning has been CI/CD. I worked with Git, GitHub, and Jenkins to understand how source-code changes can be automatically tested and deployed. This helped me understand the importance of automation in modern software development and infrastructure management.
